Santa Barbara Zoo

For one of our Kid's Camp field trips we went to the zoo in Santa Barbara. I thought we were going to go on a normal school bus, but we didn't. It was one of those big busses that you would take to go across the country. It took 2 1/2 hrs. to get there.

We were separated into groups. We were allowed to bring $8.00 to buy something to eat, or spend at a gift shop. I only had $1. to spend because when we were looking at the Toucans I sat down for a minute, my hand slipped and I dropped my money into their moat. Nothing really caught my eye at the gift shop anyway. At least I didn't drop my camera! I took a lot of pictures with my digital camera.

My favorite things were the parrots. The reason why I liked them is because they were very colorful. I also liked the Toucans because they had a pretty beak.

The Santa Barbara zoo is really big and was busy when I was there. It looked like a big forest because there were a lot of trees and plants. There were a lot of animals there, more than the zoo that I'm used to going to in L.A.

Mom said that later this summer we may end up going back to the zoo. I'm really glad I went to the Santa Barbara zoo.

I wonder what the Toucans bought with your money?! I'm sorry that you lost it, but glad to hear that you had a good time none the less.
I've never been to this zoo, so I would like for you to show me around there sometime.
love,
mom

Hi Cody! I wonder if the parrots ate the money. If they did then I guess they would poop very green poop!
