4-H, My First Day of 6th Grade and My Dad's Visit

The day after we got back from Mexico, Mom, Nana and I went to the first official 4-H meeting of the year. It was a bonfire at the beach. It was a pot-luck picnic. We elected new leaders and gave the old leaders badges. At the end of the night we roasted marshmallows and had smores.

Before school started we went back to school shopping and I was four pant sizes smaller! Mom, Nana and I had a lot of fun shopping and I got some really nice clothes. After shopping we went to Home Town Buffet. When we got home we had a Back to School BBQ at our house. A turkey even came to the party as a guest and we didn't even eat him! It was our friend's turkey. Our Back to School BBQ was a lot of fun.

This year I went into the sixth grade. My teacher's name is Mr. Snapp. He's really funny and I like him a lot. Everybody dropped me off at school and they left. I was on my own and I had a good first day.

On Thursday, Mom, Dern and Nana went to court. After court dad went and had a meeting with Vernanne, then he came and picked me up early from school and we went to Rite-Aid and got Thrifty ice cream. He got rocky road and I got chocolate chip cookie dough. Then we looked around Miners. When we got back home I showed him my room, Connor's room, my play room and we had a short visit, then he had to leave right away. I liked him coming up, but I wish that next time he'll be able to stay a little bit longer, or at least stay for dinner. I'm very glad that dad took the time out of his day to see me.

My Summer Vacation

We just got back a few days ago from our summer, so now we have full computer access. We have some pictures to show you from the beginning of the summer and a few from Texas. We didn't take many as my camera broke in the middle of my trip.

First we went to Mexico for a week. We fished on our panga, we went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant Gordos and our favorite taco stand, Recreo. I rode the bike down to the horses everyday and gave them carrots. It was a very fun week.

When the week in Mexico was over, we drove to San Diego to the airport where Dern dropped us off. We were then on our way to Texas after a long wait in the lobby. Our flight was delayed so I called Nana and informed her that we would be late.

When we first got there, Nana and Nini met us at the airport. We went to our hotel room at the Stock Yards in Forth Worth. In the morning we walked around the stock yards and saw the cowboys and cowgirls run the longhorns through town. We went to lunch and we were on our way to Nana's.

My mom already explained to you what I did in her message from Mexico so I'll fill in the blanks. I got to Texas the 29th of June and left on the 17th of August. Between those dates we got lots of rain, had lots of fun with my friends Faith and Bailey, I rode Grampa Horse a lot in Nana's pasture. We went to the movies a couple of times, had our bake sale and made around $200.00 We split the money three ways and I gave some to Nana's church and some to the fire department. I hung out with Nini, rode my bike and went to some of my favorite restaurants.

On Aug.17th Nana and I flew into San Diego. We were put on an earlier flight due to bad weather. I thought I was going to be picked up at the airport by my dad to spend some time with him, but there was a miscommunication. It worked out fine because we ended up going back down to Mexico with mom and Dern and Cora for the week.

We went to Gordo's Chili cook off and saw our friend Jose and took a picture with him. He's 78 years old and my favorite musician. I've been taking my picture with him since I was three years old. Nana and I also walked down to La Bufadora to check out the shops.

I rode my bike down to the store, visited with the horses and gave them more carrots. We went to the beach and took Nana to Recreo cause she's never been there. We went to Gordo's on Friday night, the night before we left for home.

All in all my summer was very good and I'm looking forward to doing it all again next year.
