Our Baja Mil Race trip

We had a really nice time at the race. We left Morro Bay really early in the morning. We picked up Grampa Joe at his house. Mom and I used his bathroom for one last time. He has a really, really pretty house.

It was a long drive to Ensenada. Our first stop was at my favorite taco stand, Recreo. One of the guys that works there, Sabino, knew exactly what I wanted even though he hasn't seen me for over 6 months! It was very good!

Our friends Curt, Cy and Christy came down around 3 am. I was asleep and I didn't see them until morning. In the morning we got up, hung out for a little bit, then everyone started to pack the truck except me. I stayed in and watched t.v.

Curt, Cy and Christy were driving in Cy's Bronco. Our neighbors Jeff and Jamee had their own car.

When we were leaving Ensenada we stopped at a Pemex. I had to go potty. Mom took me and Grampa Joe went too. By accident he thought he was locking the bathroom door so no one could get in, but he was actually locking himself in! My mom had to go get the key from one of the workers. Jamee stayed with me.

It's was really fun driving out to our camping spot because we got to drive on part of the race course. My mom said that I could take my seat belt off like the others. I had to sit back and be very careful. The reason why it's fun to go on the race course without your seatbelt on is cause you bounce up and down and it's really fun. There were some hills that we went up and some we had to go down.

Our spot was around race mile 48. We got to see the racers going in both directions, first in the beginning of the race, then later they came back again for the end of the race. I got my nice little warm tent to sleep in. Mom and Dern slept out in the cold on their cots. Both of the dogs got to sleep with me the first night. The last two nights Cora was too busy doing other things.

Our theme was Tecate. We set up Tecate flyers. We made Christy a bikini top out of two Tecate pennants. We set up a living room with a couch, fake grass, carpeting, tiki torches, a pink flamingo and a palm tree. At night we had a campfire and Christmas lights that twinkled.

The motorcycles came first, then trucks then buggies. I watched the race from the truck and from the couch. For some of the trophy trucks there were helicopters. It was scary cause the helicopters flew so low! We had a race radio with an outside speaker so we could hear the racers talking. The race went all day and night on Friday and most of the day Saturday. I had to go to bed Friday night cause it was like midnight and I was getting cranky.

Saturday we watched some of the last racers go by and headed out back to Ensenada sometime after noon. We had to pull over a couple of times to let racers go by.

We had a VERY good Baja 1000.
We have a lot of photos so if anyone wants to see them, let me know.

Two Days Off

I had a couple of days off of school because of Veteran's Day. To celebrate Veteran's day I wore my red, white and blue outfit.

I hooked Cora up to my scooter and she pulled me up and down Baywood. We had a lot of fun. I also took Cora down to the beach to chase the birds.

I hope everyone had a good Veteran's Day.

Love,

Cody

Phone calls

I'm getting tired of getting calls on my cell phone during school hours. I think that the person who is doing this knows that I'm not going to be available so he leaves me messages so he'll avoid having to talk to me. That person never calls me when I'm out of school and can talk, and never calls on my home phone at night when I'm home. It also bugs me that even though I turn my cell phone off before I go to school, if one day I forget because we're rushing, if my phone goes off during class or school hours I will have it taken away from me for the entire school year. That is not the only way I have to contact someone if something went wrong.

The best time to call me is after 6 at night, up until 8 o'clock. It really does hurt my feelings that this person only calls me when he knows I can't talk on the phone and they always leave messages saying that the next time they talk to me they want to schedule a time to see each other, but that person never keeps their promise. That really disappoints me. If someone really wants to see me then they should call my mom and make plans not with me. I am getting tired of getting excited and then let down.

It also hurt my feelings that no one called me for Halloween, not even a text message. Nothing happened.

I really wanted to see everyone in L.A. before the race, but I guess they didn't want to see me cause all they had to do was call mom, and we are leaving in 12 days.

I hope that this one does not get ignored like the feelings one did. I know that this person looked at the feelings one cause it shows on my counter and which blogs they look at.

I don't want to embarrass anyone that is why I didn't use any names this time.

More Halloween photos

Here's more pictures. First is Brian, then the banjo man then back at Brian and Leslie's house when they were all dressed up.

Halloween photos

Here are some pictures for our Halloween. The first one is at Brian and Leslie's house before they got dressed up. The second one is of me and Ariana. Then, Devil boy Rocky!

Our Halloween!

First of all I'd like to thank Nana for sending me the window stickers and letting me borrow her hippy clothes. I also want to thank Grammie and Grampa for sending me the Halloween card, stickers and $5.00. Aunt Ruth gets a big thank you too for my new Halloween necklace. I've been wearing it a lot. I also want to thank Mom and Dern for closing down Planet so we could go trick or treating together like a family.

Now for the trick or treating part! Yesterday Mom stayed home from work to make my costume. She put patches and on jeans and washed my new tie die shirt. We waited for Dern to come home from work. I got ready. My mom decorated my jeans really nice. They have a smiley face flower with a stem on one knee, and a heart with a patch that says love on it on the other knee. On the back I have a giant rainbow heart on my butt and a yellow peace sign on my right leg. My shirt is pink tie die and we bought it at the Octoberfest on Sunday. Over my shirt I had on Nana's brown leather vest with fringes hanging down. I had her purse that matched for my candy bag. I put my hair in a fancy style and a pink bandana on my head. My mom painted a smiley face, a peace sign and a heart on my cheek. I think I looked nice.

Mom wore her overalls with her pumpkin headband and Dern wore an alligator hat that we got at the Octoberfest. I wanted Mom to wear her table cloth dress to be someone from the Titanic, but we didn't have time to do that.

Around 5 pm we went to our friend's Brian and Leslie's house to show them my costume. Brian was carving pumpkins. They had a big bon fire going and were getting ready for kids to come. Then we went to Planet to call our other friend Donny and his daughter Ariana. They were going on our same route and we wanted to go with each other. They met us at Planet. They brought their dog Rocky who had a cape and a red mask. He was supposed to be a devil.

We trick or treated next to the golf course in Los Osos. It was really fun. There were a lot of kids. My purse got so full that I had to put some of my candy in Mom's and Dern's pockets. Towards the end we came to a house where an old man was sitting out on his porch playing a banjo. I thought that was pretty fun. We took his picture.

After we were done trick or treating we went back to Brian and Leslie's. Brian had his devil mask on and a cape. He was out scaring the grown up neighbors, not the kids. Leslie was wearing an I Dream of Jeanie outfit. When Brian came back we didn't see him at first. He said, "Darn it, it's only Darren and Paulina." He was hoping to scare more people. He scared me a little bit, but I was used to it from the other night when I saw him at work. A big ol' devil face coming at you is going to scare you! We stayed for a little bit until my arm got too tired from holding my candy bag, so we left to go get some dinner.

We ended up doing Taco's de Mexico for dinner. It is a really good Mexican food place. After dinner we went home and went to bed. I was really tired! All in all I had a really good Halloween. The next two blogs show some pictures of our Halloween night!
